This policy explains what personal information Skilled Trades Marketing ("we", "us") collects through skilledtrades.marketing, why, who it is shared with, and the choices you have. We follow Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

What we collect

Information you give us

• Contact form: your name, email address, phone number, your trade, what you need help with and your message.
• Instant quote form: your name, email address, current website (optional) and the services and prices you selected.
• Website chat: everything you type into the chat assistant on this site and its replies, with the page you were on and the date and time. If you share your name, phone number or email in the chat, we save those too so we can follow up.
• Email and phone: whatever you choose to share when you contact us directly.

With each form submission we also record the page you sent it from and the date and time.

Information collected automatically

• Analytics: we use Google Analytics 4 through Google Tag Manager to understand how visitors find and use the site (pages viewed, device, approximate location, referring site). Google Analytics uses cookies.
• Advertising measurement: we use the Meta Pixel and Google advertising tags to measure whether our ads lead to enquiries and to show our ads to people who have visited the site. These use cookies.
• Hosting and security: our host, Cloudflare, processes technical data such as IP address and browser details to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.

How we use it

• To reply to your enquiry, prepare a quote and deliver services you ask for.
• To keep records of our conversations and agreements.
• To measure and improve the site and our advertising.
• To keep the site secure and meet legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information. We only send you marketing email if you ask for it, and every marketing email has an unsubscribe link.

Who we share it with

We share information only with service providers that help us run the business, under their own privacy and security commitments:

• Make.com, which receives form submissions and passes them to our email and records.
• Our email and business software providers.
• Google (Analytics, Tag Manager, advertising) and Meta (Pixel).
• Cloudflare (hosting and security).
• Anthropic, whose Claude AI writes the chat assistant's replies.

Some of these providers store or process data outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be accessible to authorities under local law. We may also disclose information if required by law.

Cookies and your choices

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, opt out of Google Analytics with Google's browser add-on, and manage ad preferences in your Google and Meta account settings. The site works without cookies.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not become projects are kept for up to two years. Client records are kept for as long as we work together and then for up to seven years for tax and legal purposes. Chat transcripts are kept until we delete them; you can ask us to delete yours at any time. Analytics data is kept according to our Google Analytics retention setting.

Security

We use reasonable safeguards, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access-controlled accounts. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your rights

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or withdraw consent and have it deleted where we are not required to keep it. Email hello@skilledtrades.marketing and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Children

This site is for businesses and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect their information.

We will post any changes on this page and update the date at the top.
